Meg has started a new flickr group for posting photos of thrifting finds that tend to have a color theme. When I first heard about it, I had to stop and think for a minute about some of my recent purchases. Well, I must have gotten interrupted to cock a cap gun or to help get someone's new boots off because I didn't give it another thought...until this morning.
This morning was a neighborhood yard sale for all of the lake houses around Lake Weatherford just a quick jaunt from my parent's house. And I found some really great sheets (the middle two linens) and two vintage table cloths (the top and bottom linens). I also found some good homeschooling supplies like a clock for telling time and some really big lined paper for writing letters that I didn't photograph. But the find of the day were some old paper plat holders in the shape of fish. Not so much cowboy...but they will be perfect for the beach, don't you think?
And then yesterday, there was a sale to benefit the Pythian Home, a local orphanage that looks like a castle. I think Zane was ready to give up me and his papa AND his two brothers to be able to live in a castle like that. How cool for those kids.
Oh, yes! Back to the treasure and colors. We found a chop plate and a dinner plate in that Marcrest pattern that we are all loving. And another sheet and a tablecloth all in a turquoise/green color scheme.
I guess I don't have to give the thought as to whether my color preferences that day tend to influence my purchasing. The evidence is here.
Oh and are you wondering why in the heck I am buying all of this wonderful stuff while while we are in between houses and technically homeless? Yes? Do you get the feeling I'm stocking up for something really fun? Me too.
