“We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature — trees, flowers, grass — grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence… We need silence to be able to touch souls.” - Mother Teresa
I read an article a few years back about the importance of building times of rest into our week...a sabbath. Whether you are religious or not, attend a church or not...we all need to rest, to be quiet, to just be in each other's presence without the noise and commotion. Such a time is a rare treat in our house of three, em...four, energetic and loud boys. But today was an exception. Our sabbath was spent outside in the woods. In our favorite place, our secret forest.
Having S home the past two years has really been such an amazing blessing to our family. It has allowed us to just be together. And I am trying to hold on to these moments as tight as I can with both hands. I do not want to let go yet.
Nine days until we move, and after that we give our our papa back to his work. His work of giving others peace of mind and time to be with their own families. To celebrate their own sabbath...whatever it may look like or how they choose to spent it. Quiet times like those we experienced today are holy and worth every minute we are away from him.
